thats my motto on how to keep in touch wit pals!!

So, Anita was to reach dubai on 27th nov & spend 3 days wit us - but she postpones & reaches on 2nd Dec at 12am & i am to leave at 6am, so being a true friend who knew the consequences of crossin me - she came straight to the hotel from the airport to meet me at 1am.

I felt like a teenager sneakin out (my hubby was sleepin like a log), carryin my sleepin baby, goin to meet her family. but those 10 minutes wit her was worth every second, gettin to meet her hubby for the 1st time & baby shreya.

Back home, there was this another event which took place a day after my weddin anniversary - yeah 7 yrs really - wow !! now, i feel like doin somethin about the 7 yr itch!! oh yeah - the event - my drivin license test - my 4th test. This was like my last ditch attempt after which, well... who knows, who cares - am just happy that I got it!!

Then came christmas!! We were informed that a Santa Clause would visit a store & distribute self bought gifts!! so i wait from 4-7pm only for him not to come!! was weird not seein even one santa that year, not even the thin puny types like in india!!

Ohoh the best part of october was that one evenin - when all were dead tired & slept off by 7pm, me & my kiddy saw Horton's hears a who & he simply loved it!! hence the cake for his bday!!

Ok here comes November – cold weather’s been predicted – really cold!! & voila there are 4days holidays comin along, courtesy eid!! I’ve been nicked named Jet Airways – cause of my 5 trips to India so far. So, there I am –sitting and planning a trip to Egypt for the past full month, when I finally convince myself that its not goin to work out.

With 12.12.2012 loomin on the horizon, I have decided to live a little recklessly by travellin to new places.

I was bookin 2 tickets for my colleagues to Dubai on this low fare flight to dubai & to Bahrain for another – next thing I kno – am ringin up my hubby & tellin him that I have booked tickets & v are flyin to dubai from Nov 27th till Dec2nd.

After a month of planning, maps, hotel brochures scattered around me, We finally board the flight havin forgotten to print out the ticket & my hair frizzin about like I’ve just been electrocuted!!

Dubai – awesome climate!! the hotel apartment everythin – my kiddy’s awesome sleepin pattern - 8pm – 8am thro out the 5 days we were there!!

After breakfast, we would set out by 11am, visit the different places & b back by 7pm and then Dubai One channel, Swiss choco liq & me used to party!! Ofcourse my hubby was there too!!

We visted all the places on our itenary - the dubai mall - the aquariums, the atlantis -the aquarium there.

I found this lady's outfit hilarious - micro shorts with a shawl !!

Touchin the dolphins was really something else!! Basically the 1st creature I volunteeringly touched.

Oct brings back a lot of memory of Oct'2007!! of how my due date kept oscillatin from 15th to 17th to 19th Oct & in my mind, my dates went from 01/10/07, 10/10/07 & then as nothin happened with any of those dates, my fears of it finally happenin on 22/10/07 - I really really dont like the no 22!!

With all the family down to welcome my kiddy - my grans, in laws & my sis, along with my parents and hubby, it was obvious my kiddy wanted to make an entrance - so he dilly dallied & messed with all my dates!!

Finally, my father-in-law sat down on the 8th day of the stay(2weeks stay) & took the malu calendar & then they started haggling over the stars & finally all settled on a good date - 25th oct!!

So, naturally they were all shocked when I decided to check into the hospital on 24th mornin!!

Oh, I forgot to mention - durin this month of oct, my house is an open-mad house as there's this Onam function for Keralite Engineers Forum, for which my mom choreographs about a 5-6 dance performances for kids!!

So, along with my relatives, these 1000 odd people were awaitin my baby's entrance & prayin it would b either before or after 26th oct - even they had a date!!

26 - 1/2 hrs later, on 25th evenin, he arrives amidst my breathin mask, epidural, minus my specs(am sure my lens would've popped out) & in front of 5 students, 3 docs & 4 nurses! With all of them present, I was the one who suggested that they use the vaccum pump!!

& what followed was a mind numbilngly shockin 41 days of horror, with the exception of the baby!!

Well- thats wat oct reminds me of!
This oct however started on the same note - my home being an open - mad house. One day, on the way to pick up my mom from out, this guy hit our rear wheel while v were turnin - the axle promptly broke, swervin the car from the left to right like a pendulum - only we were on the highway. We hit a half lorry twice or thrice & then swerved at 180 degrees to the safe side of the road!! We had hit the lorry at its fuel tank, but luckily nothin happened... anyway - car got damaged, but all were safe & v got it sorted out over the night.

The next big thing was my kiddy's 2nd bday party - this time at Pizza hut - needless to say - he loved the cake, although he did try escapin unnoticed to the playground below!!V had 3 cakes that day - a weddin annversry cake & a bday cake for my brother who was hospitalised on his bday on 13th Oct.

thus starts the reign of the TERRIBLE TWOs !!

Mumbai - with love

Made another really short(weekend - 2days), surprisingly fun trip to mumbai for my cousin's sister weddin reception come sept 1st week!!

After a hectic 10 ramadan days of shuttlin between home, nursery(before 1pm) & work, me & my kiddy left to mumbai wit a family friend, Keith!! He took us to the Pearl Lounge at the airport ere, which I didnt even know existed. He was so tolerant of my kiddy, who he totally suspected was high on the sugar he was eatin!!

We were picked up by my dad at mumbai, who himself was visitin the place after some 17yrs. Went to Bandra(John Abraham's neighbourin apt) to freshen up, then me & mom set out to paint the town red!!

Took the Bandra-Worli sealink to Colaba, picked up my 2 brothers at the hotel adjacent to Taj. Funny how 7months can calm u down & help u enjoy the place witout too much lookin over your shoulder!!

Shopped at the causeway, lunched at LEOPOLD cafe, went bak to bandra & back to colaba for the reception!! Met all the relatives & all the teens took turns chasin my kiddy away from the pool, from the flowers, exits, overall trouble!!

Next day(being my last day there), I refused to go for a party at Khandala & instead went shoppin, visited relatives in worli - ate really tasty fish tikka!!
U think john abraham would've come home to c his parents to celebrate the parsi new year? well, havin spent the night near the peep hole, i finally came to conclusion - the guy aint in town!!

Met my brothers at the airport, bid them farewell for their domestic flight & slept thruout the flight bak home!!

Came back to office & made this wit the file thingys!!

Dry August

Had house guests - a bengali aunt & her daughter - uncle passed away in jan - so they came to clear his things up - stayed wit us for 2 weeks - taught my kid bengali, they ate kerala food, v ate bengali food -but i forgot to ask how to wear the saree bengali style :( Finally got my Isthimara after 3 attempts. Isthimara is the learner's license - only v dont need to give any sort of test. Only have the correct papers & qualifications, which vary accordin to the officials mood!! I applied as housewife with child, cause thats a seperate & easy category.

Started drivin classes in july with a private school - the guy's name was my best friend's psycho ex boy friend's name - knew i was doomed from the beginin!! 6-8am daily for a week !!

Went to india for 10 days, came back - went for the test & flunked royally!! the norm is that they flunk u atleast 3 times - my 1st time was a sitter for them!! couldnt figure out how to park with their barriers. Met the cutest top cop - a sheikh - twice - to change my test dates!!

Jet airwayed again back to cochin to pick my baby, mom and to celebrate MIL's 60th bday.

After carefully choosin the flight carrier, they still didnt have individual TVs on this flight and NO baileys once again!!
But since it was wit my hubby, I got Baileys at the duty free in cochin.

Landed amidst heavy & continuous downpour at cochin & promptly left for tvm, reachin there about 6hrs later at night & was reunited with my baby after almost 2 months. But couldnt meet up with Anju who waited for extra 2 hrs for me to show up.

Went to the dentist within 2 days for extraction of 2 wisdom teeth , but the trainee doc says " U need extraction on the left & root canal on the right & follows it by a mind numbingly horrible injection into my mouth-my baby still imitates my scream!! Only for the doc to say that it requires only fillin & careful brushin - I now wish he had either extracted or done the root canal.
Along with the irregular antibiotics, my faithful & quickly emptyin bailey's kept the pain down - after which mom says its dangerous to mix the 2!!so, I stopped the anti-biotics!!

Went to cochin & did the dutiful daughter in law stuff there, all the while keepin my baby at about 10 yards distance from his 4yr cousin brother who couldnt avoid gettin hit from my kid!!

Wrenched my weddin ring off my swollen(from pregnancy) finger after almost 2yrs & now its too big to fit in!!

Airborne - Short, Sweet & Thrillin

Had to make another trip to India to drop my mom in law back in cochin and leave my baby with my mom as she was hell bent on takin a month long break to catch up wit her doc appointments!! (how she was goin to do runnin behind a 1-1/2 yr old was upto anybody's imagination).

So, makin my 3rd short trip for the year, I left on June 4th - thursday night with MIL & baby by JetAirways. Landed in Cochin by 9am, said goodbye to the IN-LAWs by 11am and boarded the domestic airline to chennai. By then, I was exhausted as my baby refused to get off me, even while sleepin & all those steps at the airport AND all those forms for swine flu to b filled!!

couldnt buy BAILEYS there too!!

June 5th - chennai

Went to MCC college, spencers, lost my nephew for about 15minutes, mainland china where they didnt have chopsticks that day.

Went very late for dinner @ sparky's with Anju & Kavitha.

Saw, rather smelt the biryani house next to kavitha's home, which got destroyed within months soon after...hmmm...

Went out wit all to City centre where v had nachos and surprisinly nice garlic bread.

Adwaith got himself & kavitha locked up inside a trial room - thats wat he does when he wants to go the loo!!

7th June - rushin to the airport at 12pm to make it for the 2:10pm domestic connectin flight to mumbai. The flight takes off just as v reach the airport - luckily for me - the agents gave me wrong timin - so they reschedule my whole trip. Instead of chennai - mumbai - kwi, they tele check me in chennai - cochin - kwi.

Only they didnt let me inside the cochin intnl airport for an hr as I didnt have a ticket.

They didnt have individual tv on the carrier & no bailey's here toooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Finally back home on June 8th by 1am... my shortest trip ever(weekend + 1day)!!
Caught up on all the movies, tv series and everythin else thruout june- july, with 1000 thanx to anju, kavitha, arjun & karan.

Have always loved quizzes, right from Bournvita quiz, ESPN school quiz to mastermind and so forth. But there's a huge difference between participatin and being an audience - So, I was understandably in denial even after takin stage for the Quiz show.

Firstly, I didn’t even attend the selection round. So they(whoever put my name in) rang me up, since i was the only other female candidate to volunteer & gave both me & my hubby tele quiz & I through some cheatin, top scored with 8/30 :D

The TRISHNA quiz was held by my dad's engineering Alumni & the quizmaster Mr. Ochintya Sharma (CLICK click))was a newcomer to us, but his questions were tricky, smart and right at the tip of your tongue.

I was in the Family round, with Daniel, an All in all guy - man of the match, series of name it & he's that person and a 10th std kid - Rohit - who's quick to jump the gun. Needless to say, this is the round which determines who gets the rolling trophy which we never got to close to in the past.

Went Sober, Royally Messed up, Returned Dead Sober!!

mY swan dance with the Bailey's on the run!!

Irish Coffee is the perfect breakfast because it contains all four adult food groups: fat, sugar, caffeine and alcohol.

I had to face one of my worst fears/terrors when I had to go to mumbai to attend my couisn brother's weddin in feb '09!! not just anywhere - colaba - right next door to taj!!

oh wow - it was like visitin the Jalianwala Bagh or the Concentration camp!! the Taj, the Leopold cafe & the Nariman house - - to relive those intense moments of despair, hoplessness - which I seemed to obsses over for over 6 months.

So with all these emotional baggages - I really really needed my drink!!

There IT was - in all its glory at the Doha airport - duty free, waiting for me to claim it as mine with qatar riyals, proper dinars or visa/master card, neither of which I had!! I spent the next 6 hrs with a new obsession!

IT then wasnt available on my flight to mumbai, although the steward tried to make up by givin me 2 types of red wine - which kinda backfired on both of us!! He (or his twin??) ended up bringin me 3 glasses of water.

Mumbai, after 13 yrs, was a slow chaos of traffic, signals, what not!!

I went to my very 1st disco club after being promised the Olive Club, a crowd of celebs & lots of baileys!! All I got was a teeeny glass with less than 1/4 pint of IT(cant find the pic) - that was the last straw !!

With 1 day remainin, my cousin sys found me a bottle of Bailey's syster -some amrulate...a heady fruity mix, at the reception venue(as seen in pic). I had my uncles & their daughters IT under the table!!

Next day, v travelled from Colaba to Bandra, bandra to worli & back to Bandra where v just narrowly missed John Abraham, who spent the whole night holed up in his parent's apt right next door to where v were stayin!!
Alas!! 2 more sips, a sinkin heart, I bid farewell to my 3/4th full bottle & left mumbai(hopefully for the last time)Its truly awesome - the place is so alive, glorious, enthusiastic and a damn brave survivor !!
But somebody please make headway on their traffic problem!!

To Baileys with Love - part 1

Introduction of my Induction :
tHe first I had - was from my dad's stock of johnny walker scotch - dry - my cousin & I coughed a lot & then went on to create our very first chat id - chat2scotch@Y
tHe 2nd was when Anju either decided v were mature enough or when she gave up on that idea ever becomin a reality!! sHe took kavitha & myself to her terace & gave us 20-80% - 7up, vodka, much to my protest!! But come to think of it - to get down, v had to climb down the very narrow metal ring ladder & below were the 2 german sheperds(copper & pepper) kennels after havin my 1st serious taste of liq..!!

aNyhoo, years later when she told me of Bailey's Irish crème, I was sceptical bcause of its coffee flavour. But fell in love with from the very first sip.

bOught my very first drink - Bailey's from dubai airport in jan'07 on my way to India to attend my sister's weddin!! tHere - due to lack of privacy, no room & kidies company, I had to refrain. But after the weddin, when I finally went to get it, it was gone - vanished & I'd had just 2 sips so far - it had accidently gone wit my driver who then mistook it for a cream. Rushed to ngl & was so grateful to get it bac, that I didn’t mind the ants crawlin all around it !! Took two more sips, then gifted it to kavitha - I kno - how generous of me!! It was actually her gift in the 1st place!!
Turns out - I was expectin my baby by then - so God helped me in his twisted ways!!
along with that baileys, I had gotten anju a sherry - which I couldn’t give her & what happened to it? My dad & uncle drank it all sayin at each sip that it tasted bad!!

& thats how my luck goes with these stuffs!! sO close, yet always far!!!!

& All fall down!!

I was blissfully on my way to being 'Laziness personified' (if thats a real sentence) in my company, as there wasnt any boss around, except for the big guy who couldnt understand my job profile(designer) & with my desk safely tucked away into a corner, I was in a world of my own!!

& I took complete advantage of that - used to read online, watch movies(@home) till after 4am, then go to office & sleep it off.

A li'l voice in the back of my head reared its really really stoopid head & just got louder & demandin!!

& now, Voila - am in a new company!! same field wit li'l difference!! Went for the interview on sept 24th '08, joined on feb'09, recession havin interfered!!

wit many thanx to a colleague who I particulary didnt like when he was in my previous company(he actually helped me inspite of knowin that he bugs me & still does)!! cause now, am obliged to him. I recently threw up in his car(into a bag), so the obligations gone up a notch!!

I somehow always manage to stand out wherever I go!! 3/4th of the people here are malus & am the only one who doesnt talk malayalam!! My only orkut ebuddy works here coincidentally & he's actin like we never met before!!

I still question the wisdom of makin that jump & that stoopid voice is pipin up again slowly askin me

Due to time constraints, am certifiably laggin behind on the movies, which bugs the hell out of me!! So, I go on late night movie marathon sprees off & on!! Roughly translated - I watch movies after midnight, sleep by dawn & catch up on my sleep at work. Awesome right?
If I were a critic( I hate Beyonce's "If I were a boy" - no relation to this at all), here's how my review would be --
Didnt like Amy adams in Enchanted ...James mardsen's animated character's always the loosin the girls!!
Jodha Akbar - hrithik's romantic smile is infectious, ignored the girl, one awesome song...
Knocked up - absolute crap - I have never been glued to a seat by the disgust & revulsion I felt for this movie - if I'd moved, I'd have thrown up!!
Madagascar 2 & Ratatouille are so cute!! Kung Fu panda & Horton Hears a who comin up over the weekend!!
Jane tu Ya jane Na & Dostana had me in splits even at 3am!! Abhishek Bachan is too spontaneous an actor!!
Tare zameen par - dragged over the emotions quite a bit - that dad statement was realistic- So, my son's got dyslexia...what do i do? cant afford the expensive skools, let him suffer it out there only!!!"??
SlumDog Millionaire - didnt like the part where the brothers break up over a girl, especially after what they'd been through - doesnt happen often wit Indians - which goes to show the foriegn angle!!
Eklavya, Kabul Express, Taxi no 9211 - Grippin & fascinatin movies. Chucked Chak De India half way through & liked only the celebrity song in Om Shanti Om, Ranbir kapoor's cute cute - but with attitude!! Will not c Dark Knight, sad that I saw Brokeback Mountain (even though it was the last bit) but I did c again 10 things I hate about U...Heath Ledger's so cute!!

Oh, where's that handy carbon monoxide leak when a girl needed it?

After my boss quit by mid April, my workload considerably reduced.

However, in June, a huge project was thrust onto my head, by none other than - me, myself. Finished 1/4 of it in 2months, durin which, I read 10 M&Bs while at work. It ended with a showdown between me & my colleague - Indian Vs Egyptian, chaired by Syrian Lebanese, which I won neatly.

Sometime in August, I bought a mobile solely for its 5mp camera & handwriting recognition features. It was Raksha Bandhan on 16th aug, but since Lunar eclipse fell on that day, the occassion was celebrated on the followin monday.
Its a nice occassion honourin the brothers & sisters. I have celebrated the traditional way only twice or thrice, but I have always tied, mailed the rakhis to my cousin brothers no matter what. Although, this year its all still pending, even though my brother is in town!!

My 1st Lunar eclipse experience...
It should be said that, Lunar eclipse will start by 10:30 pm, not that it will occur at 10:30pm.
Shock followed when I found out that you arent supposed to eat or store food during this period.
Horror followed when mom told me that beggars line up the mumbai streets at night,beggin.
Despair followed when my baby refused to drink the milk I wanted him to finish before the eclipse.
Scared when I was the only one awake to witness this event with all those scary images chasing my mind(plus they were showin "Hollow man' on tv). Woke up my man friday to accompany me to the kitchen...
Back to shock when I realized that it took 2 hrs for the moon to b hidden, 2 seconds for it to appear again, which means I just missed it after all that drama!!
Turns out, only a sliver of the moon remained & it didnt vanish completely!!
Aug 27th - was a day of the two moons - my man friday tried tellin me that one was venus, but seeing that continuing the topic would send him to pluto, he kept quiet!! Now, the scheduled time for this rare occassion was 12:40am. As usual I stayed awake, until I realised I couldnt see even a single moon from my side of the apartment!! So, I slept off by 12:40am!! & missed the 6.5 richter scale earthquake which hit the place at 1am!!
Maybe my luck will change with the Solar eclipse ...

It was Friendship week recently & am goin to try payin tribute to most of my friends!!

These are my pals who have been with me at various stages & are still part of my life!!

Before invasion, I had two pals during junior year - one pal was allowed to invite only friend per year for her bday party!!The other was secretly married for a yr or so and then sued her parents for some reason...

During Invasion - While in AVK, nagercoil, I met two people who became my good friends only 7 yrs later...

Divya(also my cousin) eventually married this guy who had secretly hacked my pc for about 6-7months, freakin me out.

Sajay - got me into serious trouble at college, often gangin up wit the guys. He bought me an orange(transparent) lipstick as a farewell gift.

After invasion- senior year, this part portrays me as a multiple personality character - I had about 4 groups of pals and each had nothin to do with the other and 2 groups didnt get along with the 5th person at all!!

Naureen - she drives me insane & is my oncall gynaec!! she went to egypt,met an egyptian, married him. Her wedding card had the wrong phone nos and no weddin date.

Nusrat's stayin hardly 10 minutes away & v have hardly met in over 3 yrs!! Also, she refuses to let me go to her dental clinic!!

Dimple got mad at me because I had seen her crush topless and had gotten all his school books!! now, she's married to a thakur with all the works - the horse, the sword and all...

Anita had the option of namin her daughter after me, but chose not to!!

Jubie went to India for a holiday and found herself married within 2 weeks!!

Sharon's younger sister dated my first ever crush & she couldnt wait to tell me!!

Sunil told me somethin so profound once that I tell it to all when am in a fightin mood -"when two friends fight, one should remain calm & patient, otherwise, it could ruin the friendship"

Induja - The day after we were ill treated by a prof... v went to see Dum Dum Dum to rid our sorrows & it worked wonders!!

Lenin - He was a pal of my crush, so v avoided him, but he turned out to b a fun guy.

Jayanth - Epal - v met over a fwd about Urban legend & used to chat almost every night. He later married a girl who shared my first name!!
Anju - Am glad we became pals!! Despite the fact we didnt know eachother initially(& i was asked to avoid her), she still gave me a lift home after our photography classes. turns out we are 3rd generation of family friends!!she's like this whirlwind of entertainment - the getogethers, drives, movies, food, tv series!!

Kavitha - She reminds me of Mona Lisa - that serene smile, but a fountain of mystery beneath!! I dont think I have ever been so frustrated by anyone more!! always scribblin on the desks with her quotes or lyrics!!

Together, the 3 of us have discussed anatomy on tissues, nicknamed crushes to the extent of "chappal guy", done assignments listening to nursery rhymes, watched "Counterfiet contessa",freaked out my crush and gave a few a hard time!!

My man friday and myself had gone shoppin over the weekend and to make a long story short, we kinda forgot to take our egg tray which the attender having broken a few had gone to replace. The next day I squeeze my way thru the heavy crush at the mall to the lost & found and

Inspired by Kavitha's & Anju's post, I surfed this site in order to keep myself from hittin the panic button regardin an approachin deadline!! What followed kinda backfired on my emotions!!
Here's a li'l background info about myself - Two things that have drastically changed in the past few years are my Hair and my Eating habits.
Where once I had thick curly hair, I now have thick straight hair. I can literally swear by Schwarzkopf shampoo/conditioner/hair regenerator - they really are God sent!!
Where once I was skele-thin... I, now am being badgered to stay off food!! However, my theme for this year is to try out as many different varieties of food as often as possible! So far, I've tried Thai food(too spicy), Egyptian(had bird eye soup),Crabsticks salad, squids, kalamary, prawns head...

Wrinkle Free

I am a television freak and have watched as many sane and insanely funny sitcoms and dramas as possible.
On the very day my final semester exams were done with, I got hooked onto one hindi sitcom - Kyunki Saas bhi kabhi Bahu thi ( Because the mother in law was once a daughter in law too)in particular thanx to a nearly deaf neighbour.
The story has skipped ahead by 10-20 yrs thrice so far and still maintains this grandma who is rumoured to be 150-200 yrs old. There are great grandparents who haven’t aged either by looks or canes.
The actress playin the protagonist's role (Tulsi -the main daughter in law), finally left the show after a 1000 odd episodes. With a new actress in, the script had to be rewritten, cats were bought in as props and hopefully, I shall be rid of this serial madness.
The re-incarnation of the character Tulsi is obviously another face,another figure. And that’s when the insanity begins. A cat loving, eerie dude barges in claiming her to be his beloved wife and here, starts another saga where she has to proove herself.
What am wondering is that this Tulsi character is supposedly 60 +yrs and the guy claiming to be her husband is obviously is his mid 40’s, meaning his wife to be around same age. So, while no one there has realized this point, this has had a profound effect on me...how do v really proove a person's age?
FYI, the original Tulsi has returned to the show and so, am hooked on to it again, even if only to gauge the width of her hips & her shoulder blades!! also, the storyline has got meanin again!!

January -
I wasn’t going to get my shampoo after all as my dad cancelled his Paris trip (yeah, I use only one brand of shampoo, directly from Paris). & thus unfolds my year of 2007.
February -
Was in India for two hectic weeks of non stop activities, travelling and fun in preparation of my sister’s wedding. Got complimented on my unnatural glow and got knowing/questionin looks from all elders.
Returned back to work with a mighty hangover which stuck to me with a vengeance so much such that I had to hire cooks.
March -
I just became more delusional and light headed, earning the nick name – Sleepy head at work, frustrated my boss to no ends, he kept asking…"What’s wrong with u?" Oh, how I longed to find the reason for my sudden fatigue!!
April -
Found the culprit – a not so tiny spark of life (almost 3 months) within me was creating all the havoc. Suddenly the ever present, persistent hunger pangs, the nightly nature calls and waking up drenched in sweat all made sense.
May -
Got rid of the cooks as the best cook had returned … MOM & the feasts started pouring in...
June -
Summer started wit a bang of 35 degrees and above. Rearranged the desks at work so that I could accommodate my bulging tummy.
July -
The rearrangement came back to bite me as it was even hotter inside the office for me. My tummy started to serve as my table, only the baby didn’t share my point of view and kept showerin me with a plethora of kicks.
August -
Could go through two burgers and still be hungry in an hour’s time!! I was soo enjoying this. The baby liked kicking my liver (must have thought it to be a football). Finally exchanged desks at work (forcefully).
September -
Was all set to go into premature labour as the idea appealed to me. Hate being predictable!! By now, I had gained about 20 kilos. My wedding ring wouldn’t budge.
October -
Due date shifted from 15th to 17th to 19th to 21st Oct. Feet got so swollen, couldn’t stand. Tummy got so huge, I couldn’t rest. Sister came from Australia, next my grandparents, then my in laws… all set to welcome the newcomer by Oct 15th.
HE enters my (the) world on 25th Oct 2007. I enter a state of shock.
November -
I am started on strict diet and a weird bath routine. The baby has everyone under his little finger. The 28th day function – naming ceremony – he's the Perfect Guest of Honor. My sister, after teaching the baby to dance and endless Boyzone songs(BSB didnt have much lullabies...surprisingly), leaves.
December -
My 41 days of acute suffering surprisingly comes to an end on the 43rd day after delivery. Baby’s first outing to celebrate his parent’s anniversary – he sleeps through it all!! Whew!!
He sleeps through Christmas as well as New year’s night!!

The women of today's world have scaled various heights - home makers, business women, sports stars to country's premiers & so forth. But the men are still stuck with the old views that tie some women down. Y aren't we stopping them?
Sometime last year, I read an article about outraged Indian women protesting the rewriting of certain Govt. job application forms where they apparently have to fill in details of their last maternity leave duration (ok...), the dates of their last menstruation cycle (Say What?????) and surgeries they've had if any. What rubbish!!
Mothers have been demoted to just Baby carriers by law. It's the father who is the natural guardian and has to authorize that the mother has whatsoever rights to the baby in his absence, including applying for passport and so on. Then why were the babies on their mother's passport and not their dad's?
At another instance, a tribe passed a rule allowing men to marry more than once and not having any responsibility of the wives!! Apparently this was done for the welfare of the women and the men!! YEAH RIGHT!!
Off late, certain news catching incidents have been highlighted that are simply outrageously indecently unnecessary!!
Top of the list is the Mukhtar Mai story, a lady ordered to be gang raped in order to avenge a family's honor. And how the president actually said that "Women here get raped these days, just so that they can abroad!!
Then there was the Imrana case, where the female gets raped by her father in law & ends up under the most ridiculous predicament. She's ordered to divorce her husband and marry her father in law and treat her husband as her son. WOW!!
There's another similar story which didnt get highlighted at all, where the rapist is asked to marry his victim, who naturally gets divorced from her husband on being raped. The rapist refuses! He is then ordered to pay her money, which again, he refuses!
What do they do now? They brand the victim Characterless & order her to leave town!!
The Qatif Story - this is like - WHAT the??
A girl gets gang raped by 7 men, while she is in a car with an unrelated male. The rapists gets minimal sentences, while SHE gets sentenced to 2months in prison in addition to 90 lashes.
What does she do? She appeals (naturally) for the rapists to get more time.
What happens? Her sentence increases to 6 months prison time and 200 lashes!! & her lawyer gets suspended !!

This I found really funny...

A man in deep slumber suddenly shouted out aloud 'Talaq, Talaq, Talaq' to his wife. The wife jokingly told her friends of this & the elders on hearing this, thus pronounced them DIVORCED!!

When life gives U lemons, take some tequila & salt & shot glass & slam one back!! I need something stronger than lemonade !!

There are funeral hats, bday hats, clown hats n so forth.but the most tiresome i found in my experience was the Chef's hat.
I substituted as a waitress at a get-together a while back, when the papparazi clicked away to glory!!
I aint a chef!! There, it’s out in the open!! I cook & experiment only on my family and friends as witnesses will testify!
On returning from India in feb, I hired a cook/maid to help get my laziness back in shape and size!!
Maid 1
She wasn’t from my part of the state, so, she didn’t know how to cook our stuff, our way. & apparently, she didn’t know to cook vegetables either! She actually cuts the drumsticks in half, scrapes off the mid portion!! Y would anyone do that to a drumstick?? There's bird flu threat here, so, I never bought chicken or egg & I didn’t dare try out her fish!!
So, v silently suffered for a month!
Next maid was the maid 1's roomate, apparently a keralite.
Reasons y maid 2 didnt make the cut...
She couldn’t speak Malayalam & her English was broken. She didn’t know how to cook basic mallu food. She then proceeded to make drumstick curry and ladies finger curry in the srilankan style! It was the day ‘Srilanka’ defeated ‘India’ at the ‘World Cup’!
Turns out she’s a Srilankan, stayed in Kerala for a month. Her roommate never figured it out!! I have nothing against Srilankan food, honestly! I’ve never had it before to compare it with. But for some reason, its all Yellow! Be it the curd curry, the potato fry, the ladies finger curry, the white potato stew or a brown chicken curry or white pulao! All YELLOW!!
Mom’s come, so Good food on go again, but turns out I cant eat a few of the items!!

On Aug 2nd1990, when the country was being invaded, all it meant to me was that I couldn’t go for my swimming classes. So, if I were to drown in a Puddle, Pond, Lake, Sea or an Ocean, U know Sadam Hussien’s to blame!!
When I was in 12th, the rumors had sprung up of bio-chemical war. Our house was the only one which didn’t have a sealed room with black taped windows. I remember panicking one day and packed all my belongings into a single draw, which would b easy to take if the war broke out!! The only positive thing was that v might have had to write our board exams in Russia!!

Now, the rumors are alive again !! Obviously, I cant delve into the matter or they’d b arresting me, deporting or worse, ban blogging here!!

So, i'll just go about my business and make my Will, though most of my belongings are here with me, naturally!! So, out wit a few of my prized possessions.

My Harvey’s Bristol sherry is to be taken by Anju, who can share with Kavitha if the need arises for Anju!!
Video & Audio casstees to be thrown.
Books open to any takers. Danielle Steel’s ‘Jewels’ to Kavitha, as she hates it or return 2 Divya!
Albums to be sorted n each one can take their own embarrassing snaps or burn it along with my letters and cards. Wedding album to my in-laws.
My sarees, jewels to my sister, which she will take anyway.
My money to be divided by my 2 little brothers, to buy Video Ipod, get the bike fixed n roaming & a Lamborghini or two!!
With the money in my bank, please get me the 7th Harry porter novel and bury it in my memorial[I better Have 1]( without whispering the story 2 me).
Get the baby slam books for all my pals when they become new mothers!!
& Anju, hey, I got u a sphinx candle statue which I couldn’t give then, so please take it!!
Kavitha, take "something blue" from whatever is left behind for ‘ something blue, something old, something borrowed’ 'something new' I already gave u.

Someone's got to do it !!

I have done a few such, some I like, but some I dont.
My aunt works for a research company. I agree to checking out food joints, mostly coz its free mealz! There's also pre sales meals to c if it'll pull thru...that's fun. That's when I had milk shake wit a 8inch burger...it actually tasted good.
But wat I did last week was like a snitch's job...I went to a company to give an online test on Cisco...Yeah,I dont kno wat Cisco is...and needless to say,I flunked magnanimously, but they evaluated my technical skill to 35% n plannin n implementin to 21%.. so it wasnt a complete waste. The worst was that I had to rat on the administrator who was a real cutie.
Ofcourse my worst was callin up people and askin if they like travellin via Kuwait Airways. I actually managed to call 30 people!

There r so many horrible deaths happening here...
A dad was drivin his 2kids 4 a chess tournament.He ran a signal n a bus crashed into the car, the passenger side was well... not there.The boy, a 9yr old, died that day,the girl went in2 coma,dad a few scrapes,else fine.parents went wit the boy's body 2 india 2 do the rites,then the mom returned.The girl died a week later of extensive brain damage.their only kids! A malu lady doc won a nbk draw n won a slk bmw car,sold it 4 20,000kd.Later on, her kid,3yrs or less,met wit an accident which shattered his face.but he's ok after many operations.Then, sometime on...Her husband n kid went sight seein around the pool area of their new building. A man passin by later, saw the kid wanderin alone by the pool, pointing towards the pool. His dad was lying inside...he was brain dead n soon after he died.Only 40 yrs of age!! So smile,breathe and b a survivor!!!!!!!
